Does my phone support eSIM

eSIM technology is taking the mobile world by storm, offering a simpler, more flexible way to connect. But not all phones are on board yet. This quick guide will help you see if your device is ready to jump on the eSIM bandwagon.

iPhone Users:

  1. Head to your phone's settings and tap on "General" followed by "About."
  2. Click on the "Model Number" repeatedly until it changes to a code starting with "A."

Important Note: If this code points to a model originating from mainland China, Hong Kong, or Macao, eSIM functionality might be limited. Otherwise, you're likely good to go!

Android Users:

The process varies slightly depending on your device's brand:

    • Samsung Galaxy: Go to "Settings" > "Connections" > "SIM Manager." Look for the option to "Add eSIM." If you see it, congratulations, your phone is eSIM-friendly!
    • Google Pixel: Open "Settings" > "Network & Internet" and tap the "+" sign next to "SIMs." If you see "Download a SIM instead?" on the "Connect to mobile network" page, your Pixel is ready for eSIM.
    • Other Android Devices: Dial *#06# and press call. If your phone displays a unique eSIM identification number (EID), then it supports eSIM.

Keep in mind: These steps might not work for all Android models. If you're unsure, contacting your mobile carrier or device manufacturer is the best way to confirm eSIM compatibility for your specific phone.
